Anyone who knows me, knows I love podcasts, self-care, and anything to help me get my life together or at least feel like I am. I drive a lot, and I mean a lot, so sitting in the car going from place to place listening to my favorite podcasters helps me get my daily news, tips for self-care, and a few history lessons. Here's a list of my favorite podcasts ranging from learning how we are connected to the universe to lessons form therapy and general pop culture nonsense.
The Read - Kid Fury and Crissle should already be a staple in your podcast library. They were my introduction to podcasts. The Read is where I get most of my weekly news and catch up on pop culture to make me feel like I'm staying somewhat in the know. Crissle just added a new segment called Crissle's Couch to discuss her lessons from therapy. Also, shout out to Kid Fury collaborating with Lena Waithe on a new HBO comedy!
Mile Higher Podcast - I absolutely love listening to Kendall Rae and her husband Josh talk space, unsolved crimes, and ancient history that the government doesn't want us to know about. Get "woke" with my fav unproblematic Youtubers.
Joblogues - This is a great podcast if you want career, money, and life advice as a young professional black woman.
My Strength and My Shield - This podcast always makes me feel better after I listen to your big sis Nissi share her testimony and give her spiritual guidance.
Fav Baby Mama Podcast - This Detroit-based podcast was my first experience on the other side. I was a guest on this podcast for Mother's Day discussing motherhood and the challenges that come along with it with some amazing women. You'll love Domonique's transpareny.
The Savvy Psychologist - I like this podcast because the episodes are informational and short and to the point.
Small Doses with Amanda Seales - Amanda Seales is hilarious and provides perspective to topics we all think about.
The Friend Zone - I've been listening to them since they started and I always look forward to Hey Fran Hey's hot button issue and wellness segment.
Black Girl Podcast - These women are hilarious and too real. They are definately a must listen.
hey, girl. - I absolutely love Alex Elle. Her words are so pure and encouraging.
